Become a covert activist

Covert Blogging:

Okay, one of the few *orginal post* your going to see from me. This time I'm going to give you a rough guide on how to blog covertly. There maybe some of you out there who still want to write on issues concerning men but cannot maybe becuase you have a wife, girlfriend or roomate whom might not approve of your point of veiw and might cuase you problems should they ever find out. Well I'm going to try and give you some tips on how become a covert men's issues activist..

First, if you haven't already done so try to buy a laptop or other portable computer. It doesn't have to be a new one, you can buy a used or a refurbished laptop.

You might even ask the store you visit to purchase a laptop that has been used as a demonstration model, or ask about customer returns that have been made and purchase one of those.

Second, download an iso (cd image) for open source operating system that has the capability to run directly from the computers cd-rom try. (Also known as a live cd)

If your getting a laptop or portable computer you think might not perform well then try using a Xfce based Linux Operating System:

Thrid and most important of all, try to find a place where you can write where very few people will notice you.

Here's where I throw in my rough guide.

Did you know that on some buildings such as strip malls, street lights, schools, libraries, rec centers, city and town halls there maybe an outdoor electric outlet the premisis?

This is something I really did not take notice of until recently while walking by a major retail store in my area.

But how can you take advantage of this?

Example: You've just gotten off of work and your on your way home. If you're going to be stuck in rush hour traffic why not do some scouting and see where you can find one of these outdoor electrical outlets. If you know of any small strip malls then why not stop by there and try to casually check out the sides of the buildings, and the street lamps to see if there are any electrcal outlets near the bottom. I know that this sounds a little strange but it works, trust me on this one...

Once you have found your quite blogging/writing place why not take the afternoon rush hour (when you can) to do your covert activism work...

Well you'll also need to do some writing. Don't want to set up a blog?

The the following hosting services will let you set up traditional one page or multi-paged web sites:

http://www.cotse.net/

Maybe you want to purchase a domain but don't want anyone to get your whois information:

Update 1/1/2008

While browing the web for more information on whois protection I found these links:

This way, not only are you not stuck in traffic most of the afternoon, you're doing something worthwhile..
